In early 2017, on 2 and 3 February, the second event organised by BCR relating to Supply Chain Finance or Confirming® took place in Frankfurt, the European capital of finance and the headquarters of BCE.
It was attended by Alvantia, a leading provider of IT and trade finance services in Europe, acting as the “Silver Sponsor”.
On this occasion, the “Supply Chain Finance Summit” event featured various conferences given by renowned professionals from all the sectors involved in the business. Banking, Auditing, Consulting, Technology, etc.
Throughout the diverse conferences, speakers analysed key aspects of the Confirming product, known in Europe as SCF, as well as markets in which its status is considered mature, and aspects that have allowed the product to develop in this way, with the intention of exporting these aspects, policies and actions to other markets where the product is undergoing stages of introduction and growth.
Additionally, during this event, we were able to attend a debate on the aspects of debt rating from the point of view of several rating agencies. This analysis was of particular interest, since the event was attended by the two parties involved in this process: both the banks and the rating agencies.
The array of conferences and debates offered a broad perspective on the current status of the Confirming® product from different points o -view, enabling a precise portrait to be drawn of product maturity and the new challenges it faces.
