On Thursday, 28 September the Annual AMEFAC Assembly was held, one of the most important financial events held in Mexico City in 2017, and sponsored by Alvantia.
The Mexican Factoring Association (AMEFAC) estimates that 150 participants from various organisations and companies visited the Hotel Marriot on Paseo de la Reforma that day to attend its Annual Convention, which included 12 conferences. The event was inaugurated by Gilberto Mendoza, Chairman of AMEFAC, who stressed the importance of global trends in factoring regulations, international experience, the legal framework, macroeconomic perspectives, new markets and alternative funding.
The programme schedule included the participation of major public sector figures who discussed in detail issues on Mexican factoring market regulations, preventing money laundering, assessing Sofomes and financial entity products, and changes in v.3.3. electronic invoices. Next, relevant financial sector speakers analysed tax implications, development banking, and technology innovations provided by new agents on the market.
Of all the speakers, the presentation by Alvantia Mexico, an event sponsor, was particularly significant with the company director, Ignacio Felgueroso, explaining why the Alvantia group chose Mexico to begin its international expansion, while group CEO, Roberto Gutiérrez, spoke of how the advanced market solutions provided by Alvantia will impact emerging markets.
A true master class from some of the most influential figures in Supply Chain Finance, who stressed that excessive regulations constrain factoring development in Mexico and how it can provide value and generate wealth for the country’s economy as a whole. During a break from the 12 conferences there was a networking event where speakers and guests had the chance to sample local products while exchanging opinions, sharing experiences and exploring possibilities for future collaboration.
Alvantia had the chance to strengthen ties with executives from entities it was already in contact with, and establish new collaboration channels with many other companies attending the event.
In short, it was an intense, productive and inspiring day, and we hope that ALVANTIA will be invited to take part in upcoming conferences. Our congratulations to Gilberto Mendoza, to AMEFAC, the entity he chairs with great success, and to the other participants and collaborators who made this event possible.
